Why Do Patients Find a Female Dentist in Ladera Ranch More Comforting?

Patients are more likely to keep up with their appointments if they develop a strong rapport with their dentist. It’s easier for young patients to connect with women. Here are some reasons why patients choose a female dentist:

  • Nurturing – Many women have a natural ability to nurture and soothe. Their calm personality helps nervous patients when they’re undergoing complex procedures.
  • Empathetic – Patients are less likely to hide their pain or discomfort from a female dentist and will respond well to her empathetic touch.
  • Gentle – Female dentists are more aware of a patient’s discomfort. They have a gentle approach to different treatments.
  • Caring – A female dentist is often personally invested in their patient’s wellbeing, especially if the patient is young. She will offer the best possible advice to maintain your ongoing dental health.
  • Women are more comfortable with female dentists as well. Many seek out professionals like Naomi Peters because they feel less anxious with a woman dentist. This can be because they have a reserved personality, come from very conservative backgrounds, or have some trauma. We always go the extra mile to ensure all our patients are comfortable while receiving treatment.

History of Ladera Ranch, CA

Ladera Ranch has been around for nearly a century now. It has a rich history that has shaped the community to be what it is today. At Peters Dental, we always like to look back at our past and see how the community developed. Here’s a brief look at Ladera Ranch and how it came into being.

Call our Ladera Ranch office at (949) 799-4644 Today!

Dating Back 125 Years

Ladera Ranch can trace its origins back to 1882 when the first settlers decided to build something on the land. Today, the ranch spans around 4,000 acres and is located near the communities of Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, and Rancho Santa Margarita. It is made from portions of land that is owned by O’Neill, Avery, & Moiso families, which spans 23,000 acres. It is still the largest working cattle ranch in Orange County.

However, its history is grand and showcases the true entrepreneurial spirit of the people.

Striking a Deal

James Flood and Richard O’Neill become very good friends. Richard started to provide meat to Flood’s Saloon. The latter was a wealthy miner with control of the profitable Comstock Lode’s Silver Deposits. He and O’Neill become equal partners and owned several ranchos in the Orange County area, including Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores, Rancho Trabuco, and  Rancho Mission Viejo. All of these ranches combined to span over 200,000 and were considered some of the greatest ranchos of their time.

Flood provided the finances needed to purchase the land while O’Neill provided the labor and expertise required to run the establishment effectively. O’Neill was a highly capable manager and rancher, quickly bringing in profits. He upgraded the cattle, sowed new crops, and transformed the property into the largest wheat farms in Orange County.

Generations of Upheaval

Flood and O’Neill’s children followed in their footsteps. O’Neill’s son Jerome expanded the ranch and maintained a good relationship with the Floods. Unfortunately, the families split apart after a few decades, and the 200,000-acre property continued to shrink over time. Urbanization and migration from other parts of the country led to more demand for residential properties.

This led the families to start their own development company. Their first project was Mission Viejo, which was followed by several other ranches, including Ladera Ranch.

Second Opinion For Invisalign

Invisalign is a popular treatment option for patients with dental misalignments. If you have a slight overbite, crooked teeth, or any other similar dental issue, you can benefit from the procedure. Invisalign is popular because it is convenient, discreet, and effective. At Peters Dental, we offer expert dentist services and honest advice. Whether you want to get new aligners or a 2nd opinion for Invisalign, our dentist can help.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a treatment involving a series of customized aligner trays. These trays move your teeth over the course of several months until they’re in the desired position. The aligners are made from a clear plastic material, making them discreet compared to traditional metal braces.

The treatment lasts for around 12 months on average, though the duration depends mostly on the current condition of the patient’s teeth.

Getting your teeth straightened involves time and expense. It is a good idea to get a 2nd opinion before you spend your time and money on the procedure.

Why Is A Second Opinion Important?

Invisalign is an excellent treatment, but it isn’t for everyone. Some patients require full metal braces to correct their alignment issues. Most dentists offer straightforward advice and will help you understand the difference between the two options. Getting a 2nd opinion for Invisalign from us allows you to double-check whether the information you have is accurate. Here’s a look at why a second opinion is essential:

  • You can ask questions your dentist hasn’t provided clear answers to.
  • It is easier to check whether your dentist has your best interests at heart.
  • You can double-check whether Invisalign is the right treatment option for you.
  • Our dentist might notice things your current expert missed.

Most reliable and well-established dentists won’t be offended if you get a second opinion. They will even encourage it and welcome any feedback the second dentist provides.

WhatTo Expect?

A second opinion consultation is relatively straightforward and doesn’t take much time unless you have many questions. Our dentist reads your past dental records and studies the x-rays. They then conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, which includes a visual inspection and can include getting new x-rays. Once we have a good understanding of the condition of your teeth and the extent of the alignment required, we will provide our detailed recommendations.

Patients can use this opportunity to ask more questions about the treatment. Our dentist will either agree with your dentist’s recommendations or will offer an alternative and provide reasons for their opinion. You can study all of the facts involved and make a decision accordingly.

We believe in complete honesty and truthfulness with our clients. You can trust our advice and know that our dentist will always have the patient’s best interest at heart. Once the second consultation is done, you can go back to your original dentist and compare notes or switch dentists if needed.

Questions To Ask

There are several questions you can ask while getting the second opinion for Invisalign. Some of the most common questions patients ask us include:

  • Is the procedure cost quoted reasonable?
  • Is Invisalign the right choice for me?
  • Will my teeth remain in alignment after the treatment is complete?
  • Is Invisalign better than traditional metal braces?
  • Do I have to make changes in my diet and lifestyle?
  • Will the braces hurt or damage my teeth in any way?
  • Can I get Invisalign if I have dental crowns or implants?

Our dentist will answer all of these questions thoroughly and help settle any anxiety you might have regarding the procedure. You will have access to clear and unbiased information from a reliable source, which is the most significant benefit of getting a 2nd opinion on Invisalign.

Early and Late Appointments Available

Everyone needs to visit a dentist at least 2 to 3 times a year to ensure their teeth are in good condition. However, sometimes arranging an appointment at a convenient time is challenging. Most dentist offices are open during weekdays and business hours.

This means if you want to visit a dentist, you need to leave work early or take the day off. Most patients find this inconvenient and skip regular appointments, placing their dental health at risk. At Peters Dental, we have adjusted our business timings to ensure that everyone has convenient access to our services.

Early and Late Appointments Available

We understand that many patients have to make room in their busy schedules for dental appointments. That can be quite discouraging and even lead some patients to miss necessary appointments because they simply don’t have the time to visit the dental office during work hours. While most dental clinics provide emergency services after office hours, very few allow regular appointments.

Our dentist is passionate about her patients and always wants to do what is best for them. That is why she is perfectly willing to entertain early and late appointments. You can book an appointment as early as 7 AM and as late as 7 PM. Our dentist will be happy to offer a consultation.

How to Book an Appointment

There are few open slots for early and late appointments so you will need to book them in advance. Just call the office closest to your location and book an appointment accordingly. You can also use the appointment form available online to schedule a consultation.

It’s a good idea to consider the nature of your concern before scheduling an appointment. Some procedures take longer than others.
You can always ask our staff for a more convenient time slot if your treatment requires more time.

The Importance of Regular Appointments

Our goal is to encourage all patients to visit the dentist regularly, which is why we keep our office open outside standard business hours. Here are some reasons why you need to maintain a proper dental checkup schedule:

  • Cleaning – Even patients that maintain good dental hygiene require regular professional cleaning. During this process, our dentist will remove hidden plaque build-up and tartar to ensure there are no chances of bacterial infection.
  • Early Diagnosis – Most dental health problems are preventable if you get treatment on time. For example, it is easier to treat a small cavity than to remove a fully decayed tooth. Dentists can also spot signs of severe conditions like cancer during regular checkups, which can help you get treatment quickly.
  • Appearance-Clean and healthy teeth look beautiful and give you a great smile. That’s why it is essential to visit a dentist regularly. You can also get a few whitening treatments done during these sessions to improve the appearance of your smile.

As you can see, regular dentists appointments are very beneficial. Our convenient early and late appointment timings make it easier for you to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful.

Peters Dental is one of the best dental practices in Newport Beach. We’re dedicated to patient welfare and provide all the services you need to keep your teeth healthy, under one roof. Whether you want to straighten your teeth or remove a cavity, we can help.

Our dentist is qualified, experienced, and has a great personality. You’ll always receive straightforward, unbiased, and reliable advice from her. If you’re looking for a trustworthy dentist with flexible office timings, we’re an excellent choice for you. Our services are also current and affordable, so you will always be satisfied with the results.

Gold Braces Dynaflex

Teens and young millennials are confident and headstrong. They are willing to experiment with a vast array of styles and looks, which is why it isn’t surprising that they opt for braces of different colors. Traditional metal braces look odd, and most teens are reluctant to wear them. We always want to provide our patients with various options that fit their style and personality. The gold braces from Dynaflex are new and exciting. We’re the only dentist to offer them aside from an orthodontist in Newport Beach.

If you need to wear braces, why not wear something unique and interesting? Gold braces will stand out and add an element of fun to your appearance. These braces are available in two different shades:

  • Gold – These braces have a gold plating with a traditional yellowish metallic hue. If you think gold jewelry matches your skin tone and appearance, this option is ideal for you.
  • Rose Gold – Some patients find gold to be over-the-top and prefer the elegance of a rose gold color. These braces have a beautiful rosy appearance that is an excellent choice for people of all ages. If you’re looking for something different but not as bold, choose rose gold braces.

As you can see, there are several options available to you. There’s no need to hide your braces and be self-conscious about them. Just smile brightly and show off your new gold accessories.

The Benefits of Gold Braces

Gold braces look great, but they also offer several practical advantages. Here are some reasons why our dentist recommends these braces to our patients:

  • No Flaking – One of the most significant benefits of gold braces is that the metallic coating doesn’t flake. The braces will look as good as new for a long time. They will remain shiny and metallic without becoming affected during the treatment process.
  • Safe – These gold braces are made from safe materials, and the gold plating ensures you don’t have to worry about any adverse allergic reasons. The metal is smooth, durable, and doesn’t irritate the delicate flesh of your mouth.
  • Durable –The braces are designed to last for a long time without becoming damaged or exerting unusual pressure on your teeth. You can eat different things and maintain the recommended lifestyle without worrying about damaging the braces.

Gold braces have several distinct advantages that go beyond their appearance. If you want something appealing and unique, don’t hesitate to give them a try. You can change the braces down the line if you don’t find gold appealing.

Our dentist has a lot of experience with orthodontic treatments and will make sure the braces are correctly set. You won’t have to deal with excessive pain or discomfort. We will monitor the progress of your teeth carefully to make they are aligned well, and there are no problems. Our dentist will also make sure you don’t develop any kind of infection during the treatment process, and your natural teeth are all in good condition.

If you want straightforward advice and reliable dental treatments, we’re the right choice for you. All aspects of this treatment will be explained to you clearly so you can make the best possible choice.

If you want to know more about our full range of services, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Peters Dental. You can call one of our clinics or use our contact us pages.

Invisalign Vs. Smile Direct Club

Both Invisalign and Smile Direct Club treat the same problem. They move misaligned teeth into a good position and ensure they’re straight. However, they take two different approaches to get the desired results. At Peters Family Dentistry, we make sure our patients understand the difference between the two options and decide which one is best for them. Here’s an in-depth look at Invisalign vs. Smile Direct Club

Call our Ladera Ranch office

1. What Are They?

Invisalign is a treatment to straighten a patient’s teeth through a series of aligners. Patients need to visit their dentist for fitting to ensure the aligners deliver good results. The dentist will map your teeth and create a comprehensive treatment plan. Dentists play a very hands-on role and will tailor the treatment according to the patient’s requirements.

SDC also offers clear aligners that will move the teeth back to an ideal position. However, that’s where the similarity ends. Patients need to create the mold at home as per the SDC directions and send it to the company. SDC will consult with their network of dentists to create aligners for you. Those aligners will be sent to your location through the mail. While dentists are involved in this process, they have a hands-off approach and there is no direct contact with or monitoring of the patient’s teeth.

2. Measurements For The Aligners

SDC has SmileShops at different locations to conduct full 3D scans of your mouth, but this network isn’t very widespread. Most patients have to make a mold of their teeth at home and send it to the club. If you make a mistake while creating a mold, you will have to deal with aligners that don’t fit well.

Invisalign has a more personalized approach. Patients need to visit their dentist to get a comprehensive 3D scan of their mouth. The dentist will take several scans to ensure they have a clear picture before they send it to Invisalign. This process reduces the margin for error and ensures you have better aligners in place.

3. Wearing The Aligners

SDC aligners are easy to wear and don’t require any special preparation. You just fit the tray on your teeth for the required amount of time and let it do its work. You can switch aligners throughout the treatment until your teeth are at the desired position.

Invisalign treatments work a little differently. Our dentist will add attachments to your teeth to ensure the treatment progresses properly. The dentist has more control over the movement of your teeth and can ensure there are no problems with the alignment.

4. Risks Involved

Wearing clear aligners might seem like a simple procedure, but it can cause a great deal of harm if not handled correctly. That’s why it is important to ensure a qualified professional is watching over the procedure as much as possible. SDC doesn’t offer much professional assistance. You can have a phone consultation with a dentist, but that is all you get. This means your treatment is unsupervised and not managed by a professional. Sometimes, the teeth might get pushed too far back into the mouth.

Invisalign has more professional supervision. Dentists will watch over every aspect of the process to ensure your treatment is progressing smoothly. There is no risk of tooth damage or any other problems.

5. Costs

Many people choose SDC because it is a cheaper alternative to Invisalign. If you get the process right and are careful about how you use their aligners, it may prove to be a good option. However, if you make mistakes, it will be more expensive because you will have to repeat the process to fix the problems that have been created by the aligners.

Invisalign includes professional consultations and regular visits to the dentist clinic. This means it is a little more expensive compared to other options. However, this treatment is safer, more comfortable and reliable and provides much better results as well.

Invisalign Vs. Dental Crowns

Good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist can help keep your natural teeth healthy for a long time. But sometimes that isn’t enough and you need additional treatments to preserve the beauty of your smile. Two of the most popular treatments to transform the smile include Invisalign and dental crowns. Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional metal braces. It can straighten your teeth without affecting your appearance. Dental crowns replace severely damaged teeth and look natural.

Call our Riverside office
at (951) 685-3355 Today!

At Peters Family Dentistry, we offer both of these treatments. Our trained and experienced dentists will explain the treatments in detail so you can make the right decisions regarding them.

Everything You Need to Know About Invisalign

Invisalign treatment involves a series of customized aligners that are placed on the teeth for a specific period of time. These aligners move your teeth until they are in the desired position. Every tray is shaped differently so you need to use them in a specific sequence to get good results. Invisalign treatments take around 12 months and offer more freedom than traditional metal braces. You can remove them when you eat, brush your teeth, or floss.

It is important to keep the aligners on your teeth for a specific amount of time every day to get the bests results. Patients need to be vigilant and follow the dentist’s instructions carefully to avoid any kind of tooth damage. Invisalign isn’t for everyone because it can’t treat severe overbites or misalignments. Our dentist will examine your teeth carefully to determine if this treatment is a good option for you. They will recommend traditional metal braces if your alignment issues are severe.

Everything You Need to Know About Dental Crowns

Dental crows replace damaged natural teeth. They are used in a wide range of treatments like a root canal, implants, tooth decay, broken or cracked tooth, and discolored tooth. The crowns can sit on top of your natural teeth if the roots are intact. If the root is damaged, our dentist will replace it with a titanium implant before placing a dental crown on the post.

Crowns are made of a wide range of materials but ceramic is the most popular. Ceramic crowns aren’t just resilient but also blend in perfectly with your natural teeth. You can choose gold or silver crowns as well. They might not blend in with your natural teeth, but they are much more resilient compared to regular ceramic crowns. They can last for over 15 years with good maintenance.

Dental crowns allow patients to maintain their lifestyle because they are securely anchored to the root. You can eat crispy or tough food items without worrying about damaging your teeth.

Can You Use Invisalign if You Have Crowns?

Most people are afraid to use Invisalign if they have dental crowns but there’s no need to worry. Your aligners are specifically designed for your teeth, which means they won’t harm your crowns. Unlike traditional braces, aligners don’t bond with your teeth. They don’t damage the ceramic or metal crown while they straighten your teeth. Our dentist will create clear attachments to protect the crowns and teeth before placing the aligners.

The presence of dental crowns doesn’t hamper the effectiveness of Invisalign. You will still see good results after a few months of wearing these trays. Our dentist will make sure all your teeth, including the crowns, have solid roots and can withstand the pressure exerted by the aligners.

If the crown is placed correctly and is strongly anchored, it won’t be damaged. The aligners will move your teeth slightly, but they won’t damage the root. You will have better results if you get both of these procedures done by the same dentist. We keep clear records regarding the patient’s dental history and can administer better treatments.
