Invisalign® Teen
Invisalign® Teen is a specialized clear aligner orthodontic treatment designed specifically for adolescents, offering a discreet, comfortable, and flexible alternative to traditional metal braces. It uses a series of custom-made, clear, removable plastic trays to gradually straighten teeth and correct bite issues.
Benefits of Invisalign® Teen
Virtually Invisible
The clear aligners are nearly undetectable, which helps boost a teenager's self-esteem during a self-conscious age.
Designed for Teens
Invisalign Teen features eruption tabs that allow room for emerging permanent teeth, a feature not found in adult Invisalign.
Removable
Aligners can be taken out for eating, drinking (anything other than water), brushing, and flossing, meaning no food restrictions and easier oral hygiene maintenance.
Compliance Indicators
A small blue dot on each aligner fades from blue to clear/white with wear time, helping parents and orthodontists monitor whether the aligners are being worn for the recommended 20-22 hours per day.
Fewer Emergency Visits
Without brackets and wires, there's a reduced risk of broken components that require urgent orthodontic visits.
Comfortable
Made from smooth, flexible SmartTrack material, the aligners lack the metal brackets and wires that can cause pain, poking, or irritation to the cheeks and gums.
Replacement Aligners
A limited number of replacement aligners are often included in the treatment plan to account for lost or damaged trays, which is a common concern with active teens.
Active Lifestyle Friendly
Teens can participate in sports, play musical instruments, and engage in other activities without the interference or injury risk associated with metal braces.
Procedure Overview
Digital Scan: The journey begins with an initial consultation with us so we may perform a 3D digital scan of the teen's mouth.
1
Custom Fabrication: A customized digital treatment plan is then created, mapping out the precise tooth movements.
2
Aligner Wearing: The teen receives a series of custom-made aligners, typically switching to a new set every one to two weeks.
3
Check-Ups: Regular, but often less frequent, check-ups (every 6-8 weeks) with the orthodontist monitor progress.
