NightLase®

NightLase® is a patented, non-invasive laser treatment developed by Fotona to increase the quality of a patient's sleep by reducing the amplitude and effects of snoring and mild-to-moderate sleep apnea. This innovative technology allows for the precise delivery of controlled heat to the targeted soft tissues in the mouth and throat, all without surgery, injections, or downtime.

Benefits of NightLase®

Non-Surgical & Non-Invasive

The treatment requires no incisions, needles, or anesthesia.

Clinically Proven Results

Studies have shown that NightLase® can effectively reduce snoring volume and frequency in over 80% of patients.

No Downtime

Patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately after each short (20-30 minute) session.

Long-Lasting Results

Results can last for a year or more, and the treatment can be easily repeated with annual touch-up sessions as needed.

Comfortable & Safe

The procedure is virtually painless, with most patients reporting only a gentle warming or tingling sensation during treatment.

Device-Free Solution

No need for cumbersome masks or oral appliances to wear every night during sleep.

Procedure Overview

The NightLase® procedure is performed in-office and typically requires three separate sessions spaced three weeks apart to achieve optimal results (more sessions may be needed due to severity and age). The process works as follows:

Laser Application: A specialized handpiece directs gentle, controlled laser pulses to the oral mucosa tissues in the back of the mouth, specifically targeting the soft palate, uvula, and tonsil area.

1

Heat Penetration: The laser's patented Er:YAG modality optimizes pulse lengths to allow safe, superficial heat penetration deep enough to affect collagen structures without damaging the surface tissue.

2

Collagen Stimulation & Contraction: The heat energy stimulates a natural biological response: the existing collagen fibers contract, and the body begins producing new, firmer collagen.

3

Airway Opening: As the tissues in the throat and soft palate become firmer and tighter over the course of treatment, the airway is physically expanded, making it less likely to collapse or vibrate during sleep.

4

Note: NightLase® is not a cure for severe sleep apnea. Patients with suspected or diagnosed severe OSA should consult a physician to determine the appropriate treatment plan, which may require a CPAP machine or other interventions.
